the green living show.

If you live in Vancouver, be sure to check out the Green Living Show this weekend at BC Place. And if you're interested in stalking me, I'll be volunteering at the WWF-Canada booth.

I saw the ads for this show last week at the regular Home and Garden (Hot Tub) show.

I'm wondering how many pamphlets and garbage will be created? It promotes Green Living, but it will be Greenly run?

I wonder the same about Granville Magazine. A magazine promoting sustainability? You coulda done that with a blog and website and saved the glossy trees.

Apparently the show will be Greenly run. Check out this page to see some of the stuff they're doing. The 'green ticket' is an especially cool idea - it's a bar code sent to your mobile phone that's scanned at the door. Awesome.

Sadly, being 'green' is trendy and trendy makes money. I guess the intention for some is good, but for others it's another kind of green: money.

The reason I'm involved is I wanted to help out WWF. They were in need of volunteers and I was in need of a day away from motherhood.

It couldn't have been the weekend I was down there, could it? Our self-centered little family is slowly making attempts to be "green." It sounds like a fascinating show!

If I win the lottery, I will be there!
