this cracks me up.

How neurotic am I?

Have you ever tested your blog to see how smart you have to be to read it? Well I have, and the results were mixed.

Here at laughing alone in the dark, to read the posts published in the past two days you need to be a genius to do so. That's right, a genius. Take that suckers. How proud am I?

Although I'm not sure which word pushed me into the genius level. Was it glamourous? Or how about exotic? Personally I'm hoping it was the phrase "strenuous tangent"...

However, the further back you delve into my blog, the less educated you need to be to read it. Looking five days into my archives, you only need be in Junior High to read my blog.

Finally, let's go a whopping ninty days back into my archives and there you have it:

blog readability test

How offended am I? I can't believe I'm actually concerned that my blog isn't smart enough. As it turns out, a six-year-old can read my blog. And I thought I was all edumacated and stuff.

I suppose this means that Csilla will be reading it soon so I guess I better start upping my game. I typed "Big Words" into Google and this is what it came up with:

List of Great-Big Words:
absorption lines
accretion disk
alpha decay
angular momentum
Becklin-Neugebauer object
beta decay
blackbody radiation
centripetal acceleration
Chandrasekhar limit
collisional de-excitation
cosmic blackbody microwave radiation
dark matter
differential rotation
Fraunhofer lines
gravitational redshift
H I regions
H II regions
Hertzsprung-Russell diagram
hydrostatic equilibrium
inverse beta decay
Jeans mass
Lyman series
nebular model
proton-proton chain
radio interferometer
radio recombination line emission
secular parallax
virial theorem
Wien's law

Booyah! So take that Blog Readability Test! Looks like I'm smart again.

(Ooops. Do you think that booyah might have brought me down a reading level or two?)

I was a mere Junior HIgh (we clearly all have too much time on our hands ...) but hadn't twigged that it might be different dipping back in time. Fear I may have peaked and be heading for nursery care, or Care Home level. In fact, this is stressing me, I must go test again.

Ak! I don't even have the courage to try! Well maybe I might, but what if I only get the pre-kindergarten level? I think that some serious ponderings are in order.
Does one want lots of people to read their blog? Or lots of PEOPLE?
Maybe publishing two or three "big" words in the post title every post would tip up the scales? Or is that cheating???

So the *&#* link didn't work in the previous post, so here is is again...

I went to Yahoo and typed in "great big words"
And I got this nifty link?

Well, mine was only rated Elementary School.

But I feel really good about being able to read yours and comprehend it all. :-)

Well I just had to give it a go -

My blog is College Undergrad level - is that good or bad?? who knows, or more precisely who cares! It was fun though.

Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment, I hope you'll call in again. :)

I haven't done this test - yet.

Will be back momentarily. BTW, does 'momentarily/ count? Oh right, it has to be on my OWN blog. No need to run the test really, is there...?

Mine came up Genius too, which is when I became suspicious. Two minutes later, I was down to Junior High. Sigh. I thought as much.
