apparently i'm a talent!

I've written many times about finding things in life that I'm passionate about. It's a constant struggle for me. Today while visiting Soft In The Head's blog I took a quiz that lead me to another quiz and the results were pretty bang on so I thought I'd share them. Plus, they included a picture of my boyfriend Leo so I just had to post it. (Although, can anyone tell me who the girl is at the piano? Tori Amos?)

Take the quiz and let me know what you are. Especially if you turn out to be a Mandarin. I'd really like to know what the heck that means.

You're a risk-taker and you follow your passions. You're determined to take on the world and succeed on your own terms. Whether in the arts, science, engineering, business, or politics, you fearlessly express your own vision of the world. You're not afraid of a fight and you're not afraid to bet your future on your own abilities. If you find a job boring or stifling, you're already preparing your resume. You believe in doing what you love and you're not willing to settle for an ordinary life.

Talent: 49%
Lifer: 41%
Mandarin: 44%

Take the
Talent, Lifer, or Mandarin quiz.

here are my scores...i got the same as you...the talent.

This was taken from the Time article from the link that was posted at the top of the test. Be grateful we are NOT mandarins....BORIIIING LOL

"The Mandarin path is the newest of the three. It was built during and after World War II, through the introduction of mass mental testing and the expansion of higher education. People become Mandarins by performing well in school; educational credentials, the more elite the better, are the coin of their realm. Theoretically, Mandarins are free to do whatever they want, including pursue the Talent or Lifer path. But the default activity for them is to go into limited-access fields where their degrees confer the maximum benefit, mainly the professions of law, medicine, academia and the Wall Street side of business. Mandarins aspire to get tenure in their 30s and thus be more protected from risk than the people on the other paths."

"Are street smarts more important than book smarts?" WTF does that mean!?

OK, I took the test although I didn't understand some of the questions. Talk about divided by the same language.

And spooky. I'm you.

Talent: 54%
Lifer: 46%
Mandarin: 44%

Wiuth a bit more talent. ;) Oh, and a bit more Lifer. Eh? But I match your mandarin. And I'm none the wiser despite Ciara's helpful reply.

Also a talent - score 63 - 44 - 41 - so there! I have no idea what it all means but it was fun - thanks.

Uh oh...... I'm a mandarine. I guess that means I'm talented in other ways.
But you didn't take the car quiz below it.
I hope you don't mind, but I've stolen your idea and I though I'd post it tomorrow. It's scheduled to do that anyway. Who knows what will happen.

I have to do a couple of scheduled posts 'cause I'm off to Canada to visit the 'ol homestead and I'm going to go into withdrawal. Ak!

"You're an intellectual, and you've worked hard to get where you are now. You're a strong believer in education, and you think many of the world's problems could be solved if people were more informed and more rational. You have no tolerance for sloppy or lazy thinking. It frustrates you when people who are ignorant or dishonest rise to positions of power. You believe that people can make a difference in the world, and you're determined to try."

I think it's outrageous that George Bush is president because I find him to be sloppy, lazy, ignorant and dishonest, so I guess it's not too far off. ;)
